Barcelona to Host Inaugural Game at Partially Completed Camp Nou on Saturday
Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the still-under-construction Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome the Bilbao team in domestic competition two and a half years since relocating so building work could begin.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees are permitted inside under the licence granted. After final construction, it will accommodate close to 105,000 fans, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced completed upgrades featured a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.
Recent Activities
Barça organized a public practice on the home pitch on 7 November. They mentioned approval is being pursued from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side on 9 December at the stadium. Their recent games have been held at the Olympic Stadium.
